What is a Root Canal?

A procedure to save a tooth that is badly decayed or becomes infected. The dental pulp (nerve and blood vessels) are removed and the inside of the tooth is cleaned and sealed.

Endodontists are dentists who specialize in maintaining teeth through endodontic therapy -- procedures, involving the soft inner tissue of the teeth, called the dental pulp.

Dr. McNamara utilizes state of the art technology including surgical operating microscopes, digital radiography and 3-D imaging in order to provide the highest standards of treatment.

Office Policies

Hours of Operation

We are open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 8am until 3pm. We will schedule your appointment as promptly as possible. If you have pain or an emergency situation, every attempt will be made to see you that day.

Financial Policy

The fees for your endodontic treatment will be based on the extent and complexity of the procedure. During your visit we will discuss your specific needs, the probable number of visits, their length, and the fees involved.

Cancellation Policy

In the event you are unable to make your scheduled appointment, please provide notice of at least 24 hours prior to the appointment.

Will treatment be painful?

We will take every measure to ensure that your procedure is in no way uncomfortable or painful. If treatment is needed, we will use a small amount of anesthesia to gently numb a concentrated area of your mouth.

Will I need to return to your office?

We recommend that patients return to the office one year after the procedure is finished. Our office will send a reminder notice to you when you are due for a recall appointment.

Can I go back to work after treatment?

You should be able to continue your normal work schedule after having root canal treatment. The area will be sore and achy for a few days. However, if you need a letter for work or school please ask.

Dr. Wiesen and his staff are amazing! I had to have an emergency root canal done at the last minute. An old root canal that I had done 20 plus years ago decided to fail on the weekend. The left side of my face swelled up and I has in immense pain. I know if I went to the ER they would simply pull the tooth. I called Dr. Wiesen's after hours phone number and he was able to get back in touch with me within the hour. He and his staff opened the office that Saturday morning so he could save my tooth. I would recommend him to anyone needing root canal treatment.
